Admissions

The minimum qualification required to apply for admission to the MBA Program is a Bachelors Degree (10+2+3 years of education) in any discipline which is recognized by the Association of Indian Universities, or any degree equivalent to the Bachelors degree with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in each of the Secondary/Higher Secondary/Predegree examinations (or equivalent) and for the Graduation examination conducted by a Board/University.

PRE-REQUISITE (Not required at the time of application)

A Valid TOEFL IBT score, cut off being 79

OR

IELTS(academic version) with 6.5 score overall with no individual sub score below 6.0

OR

PTE (academic version) with 55 score overall with no individual sub score below 50

Passport is required for TOEFL application and also for the reason that the students of MBA-MS* program will be required to travel to SUNY at Buffalo, US in 2014 for two to three weeks. Those appearing for the final year of the Bachelors degree examinations may also apply subject to completing their examinations and viva-voce, if any, before June 2014. Such candidates will however have to fulfill the above eligibility requirements in respect of minimum academic qualifications for admission and furnish consolidated marks sheet by October 2014 and the degree certificate by December 2014. In the event of an admitted student failing to meet the eligibility criteria, he/she will be required to withdraw from the programme. At the time of interview and/or admissions, they are advised to produce a letter from their college Principal/Head of Institution stating the examination dates. Candidates with appropriate industry experience will have an added advantage for admissions. Their work experience will be given due weightage (both in terms of where they have worked and the duration of work experience).

Admission Test

All candidates seeking admission to Amrita’s MBA Program are required to appear for the Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in November / December 2013 or GRE or MAT (AIMA) scores are accepted.

Selection

Names of candidates who are short-listed will be posted on our website: www.amrita.edu/asb, and called for a Personal Interview (PI) during the third week of March 2014. Interviews will be held at Bengaluru, Bhubaneshwar, Chennai, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow , Mumbai and New Delhi The date and venue of the interview will be intimated to the shortlisted candidates by email and post / courier. Candidates are advised to visit our website regularly during the admission months. The list of selected candidates will be announced on our website http://www.amrita.edu/asb. The individual candidates will also be intimated by email, post / courier within 15 days of the PI. The selected candidates are required to pay the first installment of the fees within 15 days from the date of intimation of final selection.

Batch Size

The number of seats available for the fully residential 2-year MBA Program starting in June 2014 is 300 (120 in Coimbatore and 60 each in Amritapuri, Bengaluru and Kochi).

Orientation Program

In the third week of June 2014, the School organizes a two week orientation Program for the incoming batches. This Program of preparatory studies is mandatory before students begin their regular curriculum. The exact dates will be intimated to the selected students after the schedule is finalized.

 

 

 

* 1. In the event the dual degree option is unavailable in which case that part of the fees for the MS program will be refunded, and student agrees that Amrita has no other liability

* 2. There is a chance that student may not qualify for admission to the UB program, in which case also that part of fees will be refunded without any further liabilities
