Placements at the Amrita School of Business
The year 2010 saw the Indian economy achieve growth rates similar to those that existed prior to the global financial crisis. This spelled good news for second-year MBA students, many of whom were placed in companies of their choice. More than 270 students of 2010-11 passout batches from the four campuses of Amrita School of Business have received job offers from companies such as Procter & Gamble Division of Khimji Ramdas, Nomura, Irevna, Payoda, GMMCO, Asian Paints, Castrol, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Future Group, Heritage Food Retail, L&T Infotech, UAE Exchange, ICICI Securities, HCL Infosys, HDFC, Havells, Wipro Cons, Thomas Cook, Philips, Beroe Inc, Dexterity, CTS, Mother Dairy, Blue Star, ICICI PRU AMC, TAFE, Bajaj Capital, Suprasesh Ins, TCS E-Serve, Tally, FSSL, Group M, Sundaram Finance, Bank of Baroda, Mahindra Finance, IBS Software and Coca Cola. Many more companies are in the pipeline and by the end of the season, all the students are expected to receive one or more job offers. The highest and average salary stood Rs 10.02 lakhs and Rs 5.1 lakhs per annum respectively. Castrol India, an automotive and industrial lubricant manufacturing company, recruited three students viz. Santhosh S. and Ashwin Sreekumar Nair from Bengaluru and Sivaprasad L. from Coimbatore. Three other students, Deepthi Mohan, Shankar Rajan and Hema Mathews from Coimbatore were placed at IREVNA, a subsidiary of CRISIL, a leading credit rating and information services company based in Mumbai. A total of 32 students were also placed in Future Group. "The interviewers were mainly looking for candidates who were knowledgeable, enthusiastic and passionate in the field of media and advertising. The strategy I followed for my interview was to answer more than they ask for, but keeping the answers relevant and connected. This gives the interviewers a feel that I have done my homework and have genuine passion for the company." say Achom Halley who is placed in GroupM. He is excited of having been selected in GroupM which is the current No.1 ad agency, having 40% market share in India. "Mathematics and finance have been my area of interest from the beginning. My passion for the same helped me to make it into Irevna, a division under crisil. I'm delighted to have been placed in one of the highly regarded companies in the field of KPO as a research analyst, the profile i've been looking for along with a good package of 7.2 lakhs per annum." - Deepti Mohan

Ltd., with salary package of 8.5 lakhs per annum. He will be working as Senior Business Development Executive. Abhishek Mishra, Savitha Nathan and Thanushree V. from the Kochi campus as well as Sivaramakrishnan D. from Coimbatore received offers from Kotak Mahindra Bank. Anoop S. Prasad from the Coimbatore Campus and Arabind Pai R. from Kochi were placed in GMMCO, a Chennai-based company. Placement is an ongoing process and will continue till everyone has a job in hand that matches one's aspirations.
